Hi i forgot to congratulate you on a pretty successful muster what with more than 120 horses rehomed! i heard the news on facebook from the wilsons woohoo! hopefully the money i fundraise will help with all the horses your going to have!
Lowri
Hi Lowi,
that sounds just wonderful, we would really appreciate you doing that. Please get in touch with me info@kaimanawaheritagehorses.org if you need any thing to help raise money, we have some brochures about the Kaimanawa horses if you want some.
Keep in touch,

Hi again, Unfortunately we can not afford membership fees right now but i have come up with another way to help the kaimanawas. The school i go to (woodhill) has a program called PLP. This is for all senior students. PLP stands for Personal Learning Pathways and consists of 3 things: Music, Language and a Personal Project. It runs over the whole year. For my personal project i thought that if it is alright with you i would like to have a few fundraisors over the year and donate all the money i make to Kaimanawa Heritage Horses. I will organise everything and all you will have to do is receive the money
Sorry to be brief but I have to gallop (to feed the horses) but hopefully i will hear from you soon and i will let you know more about the project.
Thanks, Lowri
Hi lowi,
wonderful that you will be come a member, you will get all that information after the muster in the KHH Magazine that goes to all members.
Thanks soooo much I will take a look at the membership forms and ask mum and dad about it.
I just want to know, how many Kaimanawas were rehomed and how many are left in the wild. Thanks again,
Lowri
Hi lowri,
thank you so much for support, we also feel strongly about the Kaimanawa horses, we are hopeful that we will get more homes for them before the applications close.
Your Kaimanawa Chevy is very lucky that you now have him he sounds lovely and it is very upsetting to hear that he was so badley treated before you got him.
It would be wonderful if you could help, becoming member is a great way to help the horses through your membership fees and support. The membership forms are on the website, or any fund raising you could do to help the horses would be fantastic.
Keep in touch and we look forward to having you as a member.
Hi Lowri here I am 12 turning 13 years old, I have owned my very own kaimanawa pony for 1 year now and previously owned a kaimanawa mare. I think what is happening to the kaimanawa’s is horrible and cruel. Why dont people see what great horses they are!? I really want to help and be a part of saving the kaimanawas but I dont know what I can do to help. I was thinking of doing something to fundraise for them but I want to do something more significant. I had mum thinking about signing up for a kaimanawa this year but she decided we do not have the money or facilities ( holding yards) we have stables and four large paddocks and 1 small one however. My mum said that we can sign up for one at the next muster. I am very upset about the muster this year with hardly any one signing up for one especially after the kaimanawa pony of the year Watch Me Move was on the news proving to all of NZ how great kaimanawas are! Kaimanawas are the most kind, fun and loving horses in the world (not to mention their stunning talent!) to me and it breaks my heart to see and hear what iis happening to them. My pony (kaimanawa), Chevvy is awesome. I have only had him a year but from the first month of owning him he became my best friend and put all his trust in me like i do with him. He was badly neglected in his first couple of years of being out of the wild ( he was roped to the ground whenever he did anything wrong endig in the result of rope burns all round his neck) and has never liked men since. He was so badly treated that my dad cant go near him because he still remembers. I have been competing in showhunter and ODE’s and showjumping over the last season and was lucky enough to come home with a 1st and 2nd at the last comp. He is improving massivly and I am going to register him for SH to try and qualify for HOY. I have been riding for 10 or 11years and have been surrounded by horses all my life. I hope to get another kaimanawa at the next muster to break in my self and hopefully train up to grand prix sj for my self. when i am older i would like to be fully involved with kaimanawas and their training/ rehabilitating. I am currently working on a letter about the kaimanawas to John Key about stopping the culling of them.
Do you have any ideas?
Yours sincerely,
Lowri
P.S it might be easier to contact me on FaceBook as i do not know whether my email still works.

Hi Rebecca,
thank you for your email. Nutmeg sounds lovely could you please send a photo of her to info@kaimanawaheritagehorses.org we would love to see a photo of her. If she does look like a Kaimanawa you would have to trace her history back to prove that she was.
Regards
